Prevent Gum Disease

Periodontal disease is not something to take lightly. Whether you’re experiencing gum inflammation, red or swollen gums, painful chewing, sensitive teeth, loose teeth, or bleeding gums, it’s important you call Dr. Russell today. After all, gum disease affects the whole body, not just your teeth and gums.

Periodontal disease is most common in patients who smoke, have diabetes, or suffer from high levels of stress. It can also be genetically passed on to certain patients. What can you do to prevent periodontal disease? Keep brushing and flossing daily! The more you go without brushing and flossing, the longer plaque and tartar are going to build up on your teeth. This bacteria causes inflammation of the gums called gingivitis, which is the mildest form of periodontal disease. If gingivitis is left untreated, it can turn into periodontitis, which could result in gums separating from the teeth, forming pockets that become infected, or worse, tooth extraction.

We use ATRIDOX® products.
